2016 Honda HR-V Wins "Green SUV of the Year"

With gas prices dropping so precipitously over the course of the last several months, consumer focus on automakers developing green technology has waned a bit, but that doesn’t mean efficient powertrains are any less important now than they were before prices dropped. Green tech is important first and foremost because Mother Nature deserves to be treated like the queen she is, and efficient models like the 2016 Honda HR-V currently are doing a lot to make that happen.


In fact, the HR-V is doing such a good job as a green crossover that the Green Car Journal recently named it the “Green SUV of the Year” for the 2016 model year. Considering that the HR-V is the leader in its segment in terms of efficiency and puts up the sort of MPGs one has come to expect from a really efficient car, we can understand the accolade. It hasn’t even been out a year, and already it’s being viewed as one of the greenest crossovers on the market. That, as Honda dealers all over the country will tell you, definitely is good for business.

The HR-V is the third Honda vehicle in the last five years to be honored by Green Car Journal for its environmental friendliness, and we here at Pacific Honda are hoping we see a whole lot more of the same in the future!
